Principal Update Week 4, Term 2 - 2024

Updated: May 24, 2024

Kia ora koutou e te whānau.

It’s already Week 4, and our fantastic akonga continue to amaze me daily with their learning and infectious smiles! We’ve had a strong start to the term, completing our first round of learning conferences, and we'll be sending mid-year reports home at the end of the term. Today, I’d like to give you a quick update on our school uniform and ask for a small favour, though not in that order. 😀

Learning Conferences

Thank you for your tautoko during our recent learning conferences. With 342 akonga from 260 families, we had 215 bookings, achieving nearly 83% engagement. This includes whanau who attended without booking through our system and those in co-parenting situations. We aim to increase this to 90% in the next round, so if you didn’t attend this time, please join us in October! 😀

We value your feedback on these conferences. If you have any suggestions for improvement, please let us know at the end of this message. That’s the favour I ask of you! If the poll response requires it, we will ask for more specific feedback. 😀

Uniform Update

Many of you have expressed concerns about our kura's uniform change, given our current supplier, Dot Neiman Leisurewear is closing down. I want to assure you that the transition to a new supplier will be gradual. You can still purchase the existing uniform (short and long sleeve shirts, navy shorts, and fleece tops) from Dot’s shop on Forrests Rd for the next few months, though we have no definitive closure date yet.

There will be no immediate requirement to purchase a new uniform. Our current uniform will remain acceptable for as long as necessary as we work with a new supplier. More information will be provided in the coming months.

Staff Only Day

Finally, another reminder that our staff only day will be held on the 4th of June. This is the Monday after King's Birthday weekend. There will be no school for students on this day. It is a day for our kaiako to continue the mahi to support our fantastic akonga to learn and succeed.

Thank you for your continued support of us and for all the love you give to your kids. 😀

Mā te wā.
